Specialized, focused training for you and your pet! Each of these classes focus on teaching a specific skill set. If your dog needs help in one particular training area, specialty classes will cover the subject matter thoroughly in many different scenarios. Please note, certain classes do begin with a human-only orientation.
The Film industry in Georgia, AKA “Hollywood of the South”, is booming. In 2022 Georgia hosted over 412 productions - including feature films television shows, commercials and videos. You have probably seen a casting call or two from one of the several local animal actor casting agencies and thought – could my dog be an animal actor? Well now is your chance to make that happen! Canine PhD is excited to announce we will be offering an 4-week Animal Acting class series taught by experienced Animal Actor Wrangler, Tracy Underwood. This class will teach you key skills every animal actor needs, set prep, proofing, how to create a resume, what to expect on the set – and more!

We believe learning should be fun for you and your dog. Tricks are a great way to train without it feeling like work. You and your dog will learn 10 tricks from the American Kennel Club’s Trick Dog list, including classics like “Shake,” and crowd-pleasers like “Crawl,” and “Spin”. With skills like these, your pup will become quite the performer!
At the end of each course, the dogs will be tested to earn an AKC Trick Dog Title!
A therapy dog provides affection and comfort to people in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and disaster areas. In this class, we will prepare you and your dog to work together as a team, and to improve the lives of other people. By the end of class, your dog will have learned all of the skills to pass any therapy dog assessment. Please note that Therapy dogs are not service dogs. Service dogs are dogs who are specially trained to perform specific tasks to help a person who has a disability.
Recommended before enrolling in Therapy Dog: AKC Canine Good Citizen Title
Not appropriate for dogs who are reactive to other dogs on leash.
