Specialized, focused training for you and your pet!

Each of these classes focus on teaching a specific skill set. If your dog needs help in one particular training area, specialty classes will cover the subject matter thoroughly in many different scenarios.

CGC Prep

AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Preparation

The Canine Good Citizen Program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The CGC Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club (AKC).

The CGC test includes:

  1. Accepting a Friendly Stranger
  2. Sitting Politely for Petting
  3. Appearance and Grooming
  4. Out for a Walk (walking on a loose lead)
  5. Walking Through a Crowd
  6. Sit and Down on Command and Staying in Place
  7. Coming When Called
  8. Reaction to Another Dog
  9. Reaction to Distraction
  10. Supervised Separation

Semester: 5 weeks

Therapy Dog Preparation

A therapy dog provides affection and comfort to people in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, disaster areas, and people with autism. In this class, we will prepare you and your dog to work together as a team, and to improve the lives of other people. By the end of class, your dog will have learned all of the skills to pass any therapy dog assessment.

Tuition: $195
Prerequisites: Manners 101 or a Basic Obedience Class
